John Cusack joins Emmerich's 2012
And Chiwetel Ejiofor might also sign on…
Despite the critical drubbing and relatively quiet (compared to some of his other films, at least) box office on Roland Emmerich’s 10,000 BC, he’s still able to attract big name stars to his movies.
John Cusack has just agreed to star in his next epic, 2012, which will see another global cataclysm from the man who set Mother Nature against us in The Day After Tomorrow. The plot will find the survivors struggling to survive after the end days foretold by ancient Mayan calendars come destructively to pass.
Also negotiating the join the cast is Children Of Men’s Chiwetel Ejiofor. The pair will start work on the set this July in LA, unless an actors’ strike throws a spanner in Emmerich’s plans. Variety is preparing for the end .
