Starbreeze, the studio behind games like The Darkness, The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay and Payday 2, will be publishing a new virtual reality game where you hug as many puppies as possible before unicorns vacuum them away on a magical rainbow. Nah, just kidding. They're publishing a VR game about John Wick - a master assassin who, in fairness, does have a fondness for puppies.
The experience will be based on the Keanu Reeves action film - also called "John Wick" - and will prominently feature the Continental Hotel, an establishment that caters to assassins and builds up a major plot point of the movie. It will be developed in partnership with Lionsgate, WEVR and Grab, and will be released to multiple VR headsets in spring 2016 - plenty of time before John Wick 2 hits theaters in September of next year, and plenty of time to hug some puppies.
