Johnny Depp will cameo in 21 Jump Street film
Has confirmed he’ll appear
Johnny Depp will be making a cameo appearance in the film version of 21 Jump Street .
The Pirates Of The Caribbean star made his name in the late ‘80s TV show on which the new film is based, playing an undercover cop during the series’ four year run.
The film version of the show is being championed by Jonah Hill, who has an actor-writer-producer credit on the project, while Channing Tatum, Ice Cube, Brie Larson, Rob Riggle and Dave Franco (James’ brother) are all involved.
This new 21 Jump Street will stick to the original show’s simple but effective premise, with Hill and Tatum playing cops who infiltrate a high school.
Previously, Hill stated that he’s written a “really funny” cameo for Depp that he hoped would come to fruition. Now it seems his prayers have been answered.
21 Jump Street opens 16 March, 2012.
