Johnny Knoxville and Tony Shalhoub join Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Voicing Leonardo and Splinter
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has cast two new actors to lend their dulcet tones to proceedings, with Johnny Knoxville and Tony Shalhoub set to voice Leonardo and Splinter respectively.
What has happened to Pete Ploszek and Danny Woodburn, you might ask (maybe). Well, they were motion-captured on set to provide the characters’ movements, but Paramount had always considered bringing in voice actors to dub over the top.
The fact that Leonardo and Splinter have been allocated voice actors, suggests that the rest of the gang will also be treated the same way, although nothing has been confirmed as yet.
As for the choices themselves, Knoxville seems a slightly odd pick, his knockabout style seeming better suited to Michelangelo than straight-arrow Leonardo. We shall see…
Directed by Jonathan Liebesman and co-starring Megan Fox, William Fichtner and Will Arnett, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will open in the UK on 17 October 2014.
