AMC’s Preacher TV series continues to add to its growing ensemble, with Misfits and This Is England star Joseph Gilgun the latest to join the cast.
Deadline reports that Gilgun has signed on to play Cassidy in the show’s pilot episode, an Irish vampire with a penchant for heavy drinking and drug abuse.
He joins Ruth Negga as Tulip and Ian Colletti as the unfortunate Arseface, while it has been strongly rumoured that Dominic Cooper is about to be cast as the titular man of God, Jesse Custer.
The pilot episode has been penned by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, while Breaking Bad writer Sam Catlin is in place to act as showrunner should AMC order a full series.
The plan is to shoot the pilot this summer, with the show then up for full series consideration in 2016.
