Joseph Gordon-Levitt in line for Guardians Of The Galaxy?
Marvel wants him for Star-Lord
The casting chatter surrounding Marvel’s forthcoming adaptation of Guardians Of The Galaxy just got significantly jucier, with the studio reportedly considering Joseph Gordon-Levitt for leading man Peter Quill.
Quill is perhaps better known as Star-Lord, the son of a human mother and alien father and captain of a psychically-controlled spaceship who serves as the audience’s entry-point into the film’s galactic sprawl of weird and wonderful characters.
Gordon-Levitt is the latest name to enter Marvel’s thinking, with Jim Sturgess and Zachary Levi also having been mentioned as potential candidates for the role.
Taking the part would certainly put JGL in an interesting position, having been revealed as Batman’s successor at the end of The Dark Knight Rises . However, there has been nothing concrete to suggest that that role would ever be reprised, leaving the way clear for Gordon-Levitt to jump ship from DC to Marvel.
Directed by James Gunn from a screenplay by Chris McCoy and Nicole Perlman, Guardians Of The Galaxy will open in the UK on 1 August 2014.
