Josh Brolin to play Thanos in Guardians Of The Galaxy?
Star also in line for Avengers sequels
Some fairly major casting news to bring you from the weekend, with Latino Review and Variety reporting that Josh Brolin has been cast as Marvel big bad, Thanos.
Last seen in the post-credits sequence of The Avengers , we've known that Thanos has been on the horizon for some time, although it was uncertain whether he would make his bow in Guardians Of The Galaxy or further down the track.
Now, it seems as though that question has been answered, with Brolin set to make an appearance in Guardians , before stepping up his presence in the two Avengers sequels.
Indeed, director James Gunn had previously commented that his film is "definitely tied to Avengers 3 ", with that link likely to take the form of the aforementioned villain.
At this stage there has been no confirmation from Disney, so Brolin's involvement is not official just yet, but if reports turn out to be accurate, it sounds like a very nice piece of casting indeed.
Guardians Of The Galaxy will open in the UK on 1 August 2014.
