Justice League: It's on
Warners sticks Supes and co back into 2009...
For a while, it looked like Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman and the rest of the Justice League team had come up against threats even they couldn’t conquer – the demons of development.
With rumoured script problems, the project was shoved on hold during the writers’ strike, only for Warner Bros to then consider pushing its release back to 2010 due to budget worries and other problems (such as Australia pondering whether to refuse the big-budget film its tax credits).
But, following on from the news yesterday that George Miller was pressing ahead and had cast Mad Max’s Hugh Keays-Byrne as The Martian Manhunter alongside Megan Gale’s Wonder Woman, Adam Brody’s Flash and Common’s Green Lantern, the studio has now announced that it still plans a 2009 release now that the writers are busy giving the screenplay a solid polish.
