Justin Theroux reveals Zoolander 2 is still in the works
Says he probably won’t direct
Ben Stiller has been keen on getting Zoolander 2 up and running for some time now, and according to co-writer Justin Theroux, things are currently in motion on the long-awaited sequel.
“Yeah, we’ve got a script for the sequel, and we’ve just been in talks again,” reveals Theroux. “We’re trying to sharpen it and hone it and, actually, I don’t want to jinx anything, but it looks like it actually might be starting to get up and running.”
It had previously been suggested that Theroux would also direct the film, but his work on TV series The Leftovers looks to have derailed that particular plan…
“I don’t think I’m going to [ direct ] it anymore,” says Theroux. “It really depends on whether the show gets picked up. If it gets picked up, then I don’t think I’ll have the time to do it. So it’ll probably get handed to Ben, which would be awesome.”
Stiller directed the first film of course, so he wouldn’t be a bad replacement at all! Over to you, Paramount… get it greenlit.
