Kate Mara talks Fantastic Four reboot
Describes it as “grounded”
Kate Mara was recently cast as Sue Storm in the forthcoming Fantastic Four reboot, and has been talking about what we can expect from Josh Trank’s take on the comic-book.
“Well, I don’t know very much about it, which is weird but true!” begins Mara. “All I know is that it’s going to be a very different take on the film, which people may not expect.”
“I’m not really familiar with the comic books," she continues. "I picked up a few when I got the part. I think we’re making a very grounded version of a superhero film. I trust Josh Trank’s vision as I was a huge fan of Chronicle .”
Just what she means by “grounded” remains to be seen, but if Chronicle is anything to go by, we’d suggest it means a departure from the Technicolor chirpiness of the 2005 version in favour of something a little murkier…
Directed by Trank and co-starring Jamie Bell, Michael B. Jordan and Miles Teller, The Fantastic Four will open in the UK on 18 June 2015.
