Keri Russell offers details on Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes
"There's very little civilisation left alive"
While out and about promoting her new film Austenland , Keri Russell was cornered about her role in upcoming sci-fi sequel Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes .
The actress revealed some interesting little plot snippets, while also stating that she'll be playing the girlfriend of Jason Clarke.
“Basically, there’s been this virus outbreak and there’s very little of civilisation alive," Russell says. "The apes that are left don’t think there are any humans left and the humans left don’t think there are any apes left.
"Through a set of circumstances, they meet up and it’s really about can the two communities exist together. I play one of the existing humans in the colony and I have some medical skills, although it’s not like I’m a big fancy doctor…I’m sort of Jason Clarke’s girlfriend.”
Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes also stars Andy Serkis as talking chimp Caesar, who forms a "fragile peace" with human survivors that could lead to all-out war.
Matt Reeves ( Cloverfield ) is directing, replacing Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes director Rupert Wyatt, who's rumoured to be taking on Star Trek 3 .
Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes opens in cinemas on 17 July 2014.
