Kevin Feige talks Avengers 2 / Days Of Future Past crossover
Says that Marvel’s Quicksilver will be very different to Fox’s
Of all the comic-book characters set to hit our screens over the next year or so, one who has generated reams of online chatter has been Pietro Maximoff, better known as Quicksilver.
With the character set to appear in both Fox’s X-Men: Days Of Future Past and Marvel’s The Avengers: Age Of Ultron , will there be a confusing level of crossover between the two projects?
Not according to Marvel’s Kevin Feige, who has assured fans that Marvel’s version of Quicksilver will be very different to Fox’s.
“There are only a handful of characters that occupy that middle ground,” says Feige. “Iron Man is not going to show up over there and Magneto is not going to show up over here.”
“But there are a few grey points even after many years of negotiations… and that only happens with a character like Quicksilver, who has been a part of the X-Men, the son of Magneto in those comics, but also a primary Avenger.”
“The characters [ on the screen ] are going to be very different,” continues Feige. “Other than their powers, general audiences might not even know that the two are related.”
Viewers will be able to make up their mind whether they prefer Evan Peters or Aaron Taylor-Johnson in the role when Days Of Future Past opens on 22 May 2014, followed by Avengers: Age Of Ultron on 1 May 2015.
