Kick-Ass writer Jane Goldman penning Fables script
Having scripted some of the best comic-book movie adaptations in recent memory, Jane Goldman has been hired to write the screenplay for gritty fairytale comic Fables.
Goldman is getting something of a rep as a reliable person to call when you want to take your comic book to the big screen.
Having also worked on the scripts for Kick-Ass, X-Men: First Class and this year's Kingsman: Secret Service, it's clear producer David Heyman is hoping she can work the same magic on Bill Willingham's epic series.
Created in 2002 and still running today, Fables revolves around real-life fairytale characters attempting to co-exist in New York City.
Principal among them is Bigby Wolf, a reformed baddie who investigates the murder of Rose Red in the comic's first story arc.
Heyman recently called Fables “a challenging film” to make, but with director Nikolaj Arcel (the fantastic A Royal Affair) and now Goldman on board, it's looking good for the adap.
Fables is yet to receive a release date.
