Kid Icarus: Uprising has new trailer to accompany March 23 release date
The often delayed title has firm launch date and new footage
It’s been a long, strange trip for Kid Icarus: Uprising since we saw it at E3 2010. The first ever 3DS game shown, this was once a Nintendo fanboys’ fantasy come to life, as the franchise lay dormant for decades, and was being headed by the director of the Smash Bros series. Then what was expected to be a launch game kept getting quietly delayed, until it became a 2012 title. Now we know its firm March release date, and we have a new trailer to prove its continued existence.
We played a demo of Icarus a while ago and we were honestly a little letdown by the controls, but this new trailer, filled with fancy graphics and snazzy boss fights is heartening. It’s possible that in all the extra time the devs have addressed some of our control concerns. US players will finally get to play it March 23 (Europe’s release window is a vaguer “March 2012”), though perhaps the newly reinvigorated 3DS firmware will get a demo before then. Have you lost hope in this title, or do you still believe a boy can fly?
