Kidman spies hard
Nicole’s playing real-life CIA agent Valerie Plame
Much like the US government “accidentally” leaked the knowledge to the world that seemingly ordinary wife and mother Valerie Plame was actually an undercover CIA agent, director Doug Liman has snitched on who will play Plame in the film based on her experiences.
Nicole Kidman is that woman, and apparently she’s a good choice. “She’s perfect for it,” Liman enthuses to MTV. “Nicole was supposed to play Jane Smith in Mr And Mrs Smith. We owe a movie together! That’s an unrequited thing between me and an actor where I fell in love with them for a role and never get to consummate it.” Not creepy at all, then.
Plame’s memoir, Fair Game: My Life As A Spy, My Betrayal By The White House, was heavily censored by the CIA (naturally), but Liman apparently has a “really, really insane take” on how to get round that problem. Check out MTV for all you need to know .
