Kiefer Sutherland gives an update on the 24 movie
“It’s an ongoing situation”
Kiefer Sutherland has been discussing the status of the 24 movie during promotion for 24: Live Another Day , the new 12-episode series that will begin production in the next few weeks.
And when asked whether the forthcoming series would be telling the story initially earmarked for the movie, Sutherland revealed that the prospect of a feature film is still on the table.
“The script for the film was very, very different,” reveals Sutherland. “The film is an ongoing situation. There’s always an opportunity to do that. Howard [ Gordon ] came up with an idea for a 12-episode run at this, and it was the opportunity that presented itself to us first.”
“It was a fantastic idea, and it’s something that we’re very excited about doing, and it’s something that we’re really primarily focused on. So, if this ends up rebooting the show or causing a film to be made, so be it.”
Should the story reignite interest in the character of Jack Bauer, we could well see a movie following in quick succession. Time to come in from the cold, old friend…
