Kinect Gears of War an on-rails shooter which reuses bits of GoW 2? Prepare to waggle your Lancers

On a scale of 14 to 93 (with 14 being “I couldn’t give a fish’s right tit” and 93 “I think I’ve just creamed my Marcus Fenix jammies”), how excited are you about the prospect of Gears of War on Kinect? Wow, a whole 36, eh? Hold on, partner. Check that enthusiasm at the door, because it looks like the much-rumoured title will be an on-rails shooter, with movement controlled by the computer and not your ridiculous flailing arms.

Above: Y'know, like House of the Dead 2... just replace zombies in tight denim with subterranean alien scum

According to Kotaku, sources are claiming movement will be taken out of the waggling arms and legs of the player, with the game itself dictating where you go. Apparently, there’s also a demo doing the rounds which reuses “assets and events” from Gears of War 2.

This follows the recent news thatEpic has trademarked the title Gears of War: Exile. Hmmm, a potentially glorified light gun game, which could force you to shake about like you’re having a fit, while playing though old bits of a two year-old game? Colour us sarcastically excited.
