Kinect Joy Ride and Kinect Sports get free DLC
Microsoft refreshes its Kinect launch titles with new, zero-dollar content
Microsoft has released free new mini games, mascots and gamerscore points for Kinect Sports, with future free content for Kinect Joy Ride to follow in January.
Available now, the Kinect Sports: Party Pack adds six new mini-games to Microsoft's motion sensing mix. They include Rapid Runner, an endurance challenge for Track & Field; SuperStriker, an all-you-can-score challenge for Soccer; Pinvaders, a pin defense game for Bowling; as well as the self-explanatory Target Smash for Table Tennis, Fruit Splatter for Volleyball and King of the Ring for Boxing.
The 7.6 MB add-on also features three new mascots – Zippy Zombie, Champion Chicken and Sportastico – and 10 new achievements.
Microsoft is also readying free DLC for Kinect Joy Ride; albeit with a slightly more commercial twist. Entitled the Chevrolet Car Pack, it will gift players with (surprise!) a virtual Chevrolet Camaro, Corvette and Cruze for high-speed advergaming both and online and off. It will be available for download on January 4th, 2011.
