Klein and Prinze Jr set to Serenade
Chris and Freddie hook on to Manhattan buddy-comedy (and may be joined by a Soprano...)
Former Slack Packers Chris Klein and Freddie Prinze Jr have had a tough time shaking their teen-movie moulds but they might just be turning a corner with New York City Serenade.
The tale has been scribbled by actor/helmer Frank Whaley and is somewhat based on real events from his life.
Set in ‘90s Manhattan, the rib-tickling tale follows two buddies as they slowly grow apart. Freddie plays a wannabe filmmaker called Owen and Chris is a dead-beat drummer called Ray and after a disastrous weekend at Owen’s first film festival, the two don’t see each other for almost two years.
By the time they run into each other again, life has changed and neither buddy is sure they can get their friendship back to how it was.
Meadow Soprano, aka Jamie-Lynn Sigler, is currently in talks to play Owen’s fiancée Lynn.
