Kurt Russell in line to join Fast & Furious 7
The return of Stuntman Mike?
Fast & Furious 7 could be about to add another big-name star to its hi-octane ranks, with Variety reporting that Kurt Russell is in negotiations to join the cast.
Russell has apparently been offered a role that was initially offered to Denzel Washington, with discussions thought to be advanced between actor and studio.
No details have been released as to the nature of the role, but our minds naturally flick back to Russell’s turn as car-obsessed nutjob Stuntman Mike in Quentin Tarantino’s Death Proof .
Should he sign on, Russell will join returning stars Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Paul Walker and Tyrese Gibson, all of whom will be teaming up to take on Jason Statham’s villain.
Directed by franchise newcomer James Wan and co-starring chop-socky maestro Tony Jaa, Fast & Furious 7 will open in the UK on 25 July 2014.
