Leonard Nimoy joins Transformers Dark Of The Moon
Will voice Sentinel Prime
As if the signs for Michael Bay’s third Transformers weren’t already pretty good, word comes today that the threequel’s just landed sci-fi icon Leonard Nemoy.
Nimoy has signed up to lend his inimitably grave tones to the character of Sentinel Prime, the predecessor of everybody's favourite Autobot Optimus Prime.
Sentinel was glimpsed in Transformers 3 ’s initial teaser trailer as a hunk of wreckage found on the dark side of the moon.
EW provided a few spoilers on Nimoy’s involvement, so stop reading now if you want to be surprised.
According to them, Sentinel is brought back to Earth, and takes on the form of a fire truck – which we’ve already seen in the film’s trailer. Apparently he'll be involved in the film’s climactic Chicago smackdown.
This isn’t the first time Nimoy’s lent his voice to a Transformers movie – he previously played Galvatron in the 1986 animated Transformers: The Movie .
Welcome aboard, Nimoy.
