Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII side quest guide
The Grail of Valhalla
You can find Professor Lathom in this alcove
Here’s the first temple glyph
And here’s where you can find the other temple glyph
After reading those two temple glyphs, you should find the professor here. If not, come back after looking at the other glyphs
Another hop or two should take you to the next glyph
And one more hop to the next glyph
You’ll know you’re on the right track to the last glyph when you find yourself on foot
Who you get it from: Professor Lathom, found in an alcove facing opposite the inn in Poltae.
When you can obtain the quest: Upon your first visit to Poltae, the temple community within Rocky Crag.
Rewards for completion: 3800 gil, Crest of Etro x1, Sacred Knight x1, Max HP +150, Strength +10, Magic +16
Instructions for completion: This quest requires going into the same temple of the area’s main quest. If you think you’re not ready to face the temple’s boss, feel free to clean out the temple of its treasures and then leave. It will make your actual trek to the boss all the more smoother when you’re ready take it on. The point of this quest is to look at the Goddess Glyph and the Chaos Glyph inside the temple. These will be easy to spot as you make your way up the temple.
When you do exit the temple, talk to Lathom and give him your glyph findings. You might have noticed that there are a number of undecipherable plaques around Poltae. You now have the ability to read these plaques. The first is on the east side of Poltae, on top of the slope. Then jump and glide to the next plaque, which should be within view from the first plaque. Next, move to the opposite side of the street for the third plaque. Finally, climb the ladder where you and the Chocobo parted near the temple. Make a right and you’ll find a tunnel with the fourth plaque. Go to the location of the first plaque where you’ll find Lathom. Speak to him to complete the quest.
