Finding this gleam in the desert might be tricky, so be sure to refer to the minimap on the corner
Who you get it from: Elmer, a boy in the town of Ruffian, who can be found on a second floor balcony.
When you can obtain the quest: Any time.
Rewards for completion: 400 gil, Retro Scopes x1, Max HP +50, Strength +2, Magic +4
Instructions for completion: Leave Ruffian and head north to Atmos Sands. Then head northeast when you reach the observation platform, where you should spot the gleam of the collectable Elmer talked about. This essentially completes the quest, but you’re encouraged to revisit Elmer as he’s an expert appraiser of Unappraised Items. These items can be found on the ground, destroying skeletal statues and from killing lizards. Here are the various appraisal rewards: Pilgrim's Crux for 1 item appraised, Gold Dust for 5 items, Ether for 10 items, Platinum Ore for 20 items, and Turbo Ether for 50 items.
