Lindsay Lohan no longer playing Linda Lovelace
Director recasting biopic of Deep Throat star
It looked like it was going to be a chance for Lindsay Lohan to finally regain some respectability, and prove her worth as an actress again.
But now director Matthew Wilder has told E! News that Lohan will no longer star in Inferno , the biopic of Deep Throat star Linda Lovelace.
Wilder said: "We are withdrawing our offer from Lindsay Lohan… We are currently in negotiations [with another actress] and working on the legalities of bringing her on board."
"We have stuck by Lindsay very patiently for a long time with a lot of love and support. Ultimately, the impossibility of insuring her - and some other issues - have made it impossible for us to go forward."
Tomorrow E! News will be announcing the identity of the 'amazing actress' who is lined up to replace Lohan.
It will be a blow for Lohan, who has recently made something of a comeback appearance in Robert Rodriguez's Machete , as she seemed like perfect casting for the troubled starlet.
Earlier this year Wilder announced that the production would wait for Lohan while she was serving jail time.
Anyone who has seen documentary Inside Deep Throat will know there's an interesting story to be told here, and it could have been a great dramatic role for Lohan.
