Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon coming to 3DS this year
Dark Moon rising
Though Nintendo's E3 2012 press conference was almost entirely about the impending launch of the Wii U, they still managed to carve out a little slice of time for the 3DS. Among the titles displayed (alongside the newPaper Mario) was Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon.
The original game in the series released as a launch title with the Nintendo Gamecube over a decade ago. At the time, fans considered it a huge disappointment based - pretty much entirely - on the fact that it didn't star Mario. However, over the years it has cultivated a cult following.
While some video of the game in action was revealed, there weren't many details to discuss. We're told that Luigi will now have to travel through many different locations and through many missions. "And just Luigi's luck, there are even new kinds of ghosts. And you wont be able to beat them, unless you devise just the right capture strategies."
Nintendo also declined to give a specific release date (which became a constant theme for them this year) but said that it would be coming "this holiday season." Which likely means November or December.
