Madagascar Penguins get their own movie
Private, Rico, Skipper, Kowalski...
Dreamworks Animation are giving Madagascar 's mischevious penguins the feature-length treatment.
Everyone's favourite aquatic miscreants are to get their own spinoff movie, which will also see Megamind writers Alan J. Schoolcraft and Brent Simons reuniting for script-writing duties.
No word on director(s) yet, but it shouldn't be hard to attract interest on this one. The penguins have, after all, been the best part of the franchise so far.
And this isn't the first time the penguins have ventured into spinoff territory either; the foursome previously appeared in the inventively titled short The Madagacar Penguins in a Christmas Caper .
Plus they even have their own TV show, which is apparently quite a hit with the younger viewers.
For now, though, there's only one question on our lips: Will King Julian get his much-deserved cameo?
