Make the wait for Red Dead Redemption 2 slightly more bearable by streaming the original for free
Remember back when Red Dead Redemption 2 was supposed to come out this fall? Those were good times. When Rockstar announced that its next open-world Western game would come out in spring 2018 instead, it softened the blow by saying it was "excited to bring you more details about the game this summer". Rockstar may yet meet that deadline and provide more RDR2 news before the official end of the season on Friday, September 22, but I wouldn't count on it (especially after what happened to GTA 5's single-player DLC).
No, wiser to just let Rockstar quietly work away on Rockstar time while we take the initiative in treating our own Western withdrawal symptoms. If you were looking forward to playing RDR2 on PS4, the ideal medicine may already be at your fingertips: just revisit the original Red Dead Redemption on PS Now (or play it for the first time, PS Now doesn't judge). Sony offers a seven-day free trial of the game streaming service (here's the US site and the UK one) so you don't even need to drop any extra cash if you think you can satiate your desperado desires within a week.
There's a bunch of other games streaming on PS Now if you somehow get tired of kidnapping townsfolk and leaving them tied up on train tracks. Or if you'd just prefer a quick recap, here's everything you need to know about Red Dead Redemption to get hyped for the sequel. Then check out our Red Dead Redemption 2 info round-up for a quick recap on all of the developments so far.

I got a BA in journalism from Central Michigan University - though the best education I received there was from CM Life, its student-run newspaper. Long before that, I started pursuing my degree in video games by bugging my older brother to let me play Zelda on the Super Nintendo. I've previously been a news intern for GameSpot, a news writer for CVG, and now I'm a staff writer here at GamesRadar.
