Making money
We sample SkillGround's competitive gaming service and try our hand at getting paid to play
You've probably noticed GamesRadar has partnered up with the folks over atSkillGround- we're cool with that, because getting paid to play games sounds good to us. In fact, it sounds too good to be true. Can you really pay the bills by making the kills? Or are we blowing sunshine up your ass? We thought we'd spend some time with the games to find out for ourselves just how possible it is for a typical gamer to win some pocket money blasting other players into pieces.
Still, if it wasn't for the fact there was money to be made (or lost), SkillGround's four games wouldn't be on our mind. Their street racer, 3D fighter, military shooter, and sci-fi shooter are all about as bland as the off-brand cola at your local market. But after hearing the news that SkillGround's top player, Detonator, had raked in over $3,000 to date our interest was piqued to see how well we'd do.
