Mamma Mia sequel never going to happen
According to Amanda Seyfried
Amanda Seyfried has shot down rumours that a Mammia Mia 2 could one day go into production, vowing: “That’s never gonna happen.”
The actress, whose fairytale update Red Riding Hood is due out next month, admitted that rumours of a follow-up to the 2008 middle-age musical smash were started by her. Apparently once upon a time she expressed an interest in a sequel.
But in a new interview with Marie Clare , Seyfried stamped the rumours well and truly out. Asked if a sequel was still on the cards, she reacted:
“Fuck no! That's never gonna happen. Like, what would they do? What would they write about? How would they get all the actors back?”
She’s of course referring to the first film’s star-spangled cast, which included Meryl Streep, Stellan Skarsgard, Dominic Cooper, Colin Firth, Julie Walters and Pierce Brosnan.
So, no Mamma Mia 2 ? Yes, the world can breathe a sigh of relief...
