Man Of Steel seems set to risk the ire of Superman fanboys by apparently recasting Jimmy Olsen as a female character named Jenny.
IMDb lists actress Rebecca Buller as playing a character named Jenny Olsen, with nobody listed as playing Jimmy. Sounds like it’s all change at the Daily Planet.
And for those suspecting an error on IMDb ’s part, the above screenshot is taken from the trailer, and clearly shows Perry White fleeing the Planet with Buller in tow. Looks like their characters work together alright.
While purists might not be best pleased, we think it’s encouraging to see Snyder making the Superman universe his own. If recasting Jimmy as Jenny serves his story better, then we can’t see any problem with the change.
Co-starring Henry Cavill, Russell Crowe and Amy Adams, Man Of Steel opens in the UK on 14 June 2013.
