Marc Forster to direct sci-fi The Runner for Disney
Bond helmer going futuristic
Quantum Of Solace director Marc Forster is being lined up to helm futuristic sci-fi The Runner for Walt Disney Pictures.
The Mouse House has just snapped up the rights to the film, which will be written by Knight Rider series reboot scribe Dave Andon.
Set in the year 2027, the plot finds Earth now an uninhabitable wasteland thanks to a devastating attack.
When a group of mountain-living survivors discover how to send someone back in time, a man volunteers himself – but he’s only going back to save his lost love.
Disney are looking to go big with The Runner , with TV series, graphic novels and video games all included in their deal.
It all sounds a little Terminator -lite to us, but with Forster at the helm we might at least get a few slick-looking action scenes.
