DC Universe Online came to PC and PS3 almost a year ago, and we’ve been intrigued to see just how DC’s biggest competitor would respond with their planned MMO. Now the MMORPG publisher Gazillion has officially named its upcoming Marvel Universe-based MMO as the clearly defined Marvel Heroes. We also got our first look at what Spider-Man will look like in the game.
Originally titled Marvel Universe and worked on by Cryptic Studios (City of Heroes), Gazillion took over with developer Secret Identity earlier this year. When it was announced that the team was working with Marvel writer extraordinaire Brian Michael Bendis we had high hopes, though we’ve yet to see any real screens for it. It’s going for the free-to-play model, and most interesting it seems like you get to play as iconic heroes like Spider-Man and Wolverine instead of just some new hero. No real release date set, guess we’ll just keep looking at these character models until then.
