Marvel confirms Vin Diesel as Groot
Star officially joins Guardians Of The Galaxy
It’s been an open secret for months that Vin Diesel would be part of Guardians Of The Galaxy , (thanks largely to Diesel’s big mouth) and Marvel has now officially confirmed him as the voice of anthropomorphic tree, Groot.
True to form, the star has posted a picture of himself cuddling up to a model of the character, while director James Gunn has also had a word or two to share on the news.
“Yep it is completely official, and he’s amazing,” confirmed Gunn. “I never knew someone could say 'I AM GROOT' so many different ways and with such feeling (and that sounds like I’m kidding but I’m not!)”
Diesel is the latest addition to an eclectically starry cast, featuring the likes of Benicio del Toro, Zoe Saldana, Chris Pratt, Bradley Cooper and Glenn Close, to name but a few.
Directed by Gunn, Guardians Of The Galaxy will open in the UK on 1 August 2014.
