Marvel fighter next from Fight Night team
New superhero bruiser will deliver to comic book fans and fighting diehards, promises EA
EA sends word that its Chicago studio, which formally worked on the Fight Night and Def Jam: Icon games, is developing a new PS3 and Xbox 360 fighter using the Marvel license.
The company promises the unnamed game will "deliver an authentic superhero fighting experience that has been promised for years but never truly been delivered."
"We looked at past comic-based games to find out what was missing and what was needed to successfully translate the intensity, excitement and fiction from comics into fighting games," said Kudo Tsunoda, General Manager of EA Chicago. "We're challenging ourselves to make a game that delivers on the superhero promises of past top-tier fighting games."

According to EA, the fighter will feature an "all-star line-up" of superheroes and villains, huge environments and a (PR speak alert) "living world that keeps the gameplay fresh."
"Every battle will be unique; every battle will be like a first edition," is the promise.
The PR ninjas are right about one thing - it is about time we got a decent superhero fighter. Let's see if EA can deliver on its promises...
