Marvel Pinball: Vengeance and Virtue Ghost Rider table announced
That flaming-skulled stuntman sure plays a mean pinball
Zen Studios is hitting New York Comic Con hard this year, set to make several announcements regarding their popular Marvel Pinball game. Over the next few days, the developer will be revealing several new tables, each themed towards a different character or franchise in the Marvel universe. First up is the Ghost Rider table, entitled “Marvel Pinball: Vengeance and Virtue Ghost Rider,” which is totally worth taking a look at (even if you’re not a fan of Nicolas Cage movies). If you haven’t seen how dynamic and interactive Zen takes their downloadable tables you’re going to be absolutely amazed.
It’s insane, isn’t it? There are fully-rendered characters doing stuff while the pinball action is going on. In the arcades you’d be lucky if the machine played an obnoxiously loud version of the franchise’s theme song when you hit a high-score, let alone had the characters dancing around the table.
If you're not in the know when it comes to the goings-ons of Ghostrider, here's a brief synopsis of the table straight from the developers: "Motorcycle stuntman Johnny Blaze is cursed, doomed to live life as the Ghost Rider, a brutal spirit that exists only to mete out vengeance against evildoers. Get ready for duels with sinister villains summoned to the stage by Lucifer, all leading up to a final battle against the renegade angel, Zadkiel. Hell's demons are about to learn what it means to mess with the Spirit of Vengeance."
That’s some epic stuff right there. On this table you're not just hitting a silver ball towards numbers; you're doing battle with renegade angels, demons, and Lucifer himself. That, my friends, is one important game of pinball.
