Mass Effect: Andromeda's launch trailer has explosions, brain scanning, and asari cuddles
After 600 years of intergalactic cryosleep it all goes to shit in the first few seconds of the launch trailer for Mass Effect: Andromeda. Between a bunch of "Golden" worlds that turn out to be worthless and a devastating assault from the not-so-friendly locals, the new Pathfinder has his work cut out for him. Or her, but in this case it's definitely him.
Speaking of which, this trailer gives us our first clue about what the Ryder twin you don't choose to play as will be up to while you're out saving mankind. Extrapolating from the perilous situation Sara Ryder's in here, with an angry kett staring her down and scanning her brain(?), the most likely answer is either "dead" or "captured".
But maybe she's fine! Maybe. Ok, she's almost definitely not fine.

I got a BA in journalism from Central Michigan University - though the best education I received there was from CM Life, its student-run newspaper. Long before that, I started pursuing my degree in video games by bugging my older brother to let me play Zelda on the Super Nintendo. I've previously been a news intern for GameSpot, a news writer for CVG, and now I'm a staff writer here at GamesRadar.
