Mass Effect delayed?
Retailers shift 360 RPG date to December 2007 - BioWare denies and Microsoft responds
Aug 20, 2007
Several retailers, including GAME, have shifted their listed release dates for BioWare's Mass Effect, and according to them it's been pushed back a month to December (phew! At least it's not 2008, eh?).
December 7 is the new date listed online - back from the official projection of "November" which was revealed at E3 last month. Pre-order customers in Australia are also reporting e-mails from retailers alerting them of the date change, though BioWare expectedly has little to offer in the way of confirmation.
Mass Effect Community man Chris Priestly seemingly shot down the rumour, stating on the official game forums that the RPG is still scheduled for a November release, with an exact date to be revealed soon. Hmmm...
Despite how much we desperately, rabidly crave to have Mass Effect in our mitts, a month slip wouldn't be so bad - at least it'd give us some more time to play Halo 3 and Mario.
We've contacted Microsoft for an official line anyway, and hopefully it'll clear this whole mess up shortly.

Update: "We have not announced or changed the release date for Mass Effect," a Microsoft spokesperson tells us. There you go then - crisis averted. For now.
