Matthew McConaughey confirms he will star in Interstellar
Set to lead Chris Nolan’s new one
Last week we reported that Matthew McConaughey was on the brink of scooping himself the lead role in Chris Nolan’s upcoming sci-fi Interstellar , and now the star himself has come out to confirm that the rumours are true.
Deadline reports that McConaughey has confirmed that the deal is done, and he will indeed be taking the lead part of Cooper. That’s about it for details, but then, this is a Chris Nolan project after all…
Nolan’s story is thought to be based upon the scientific theories of relativity expert Kip S. Thorne, who posited the existence of wormholes and their potential capability for facilitating time travel.
Penned by Christopher’s brother Jonah, the script is said to follow a scientific expedition into space in which said theory is put to the test. In terms of plot, that’s pretty much everything we know!
Looks like all those years of slumming it in sub-par rom-coms are finally behind McConaughey, who seems to be putting together a run of really interesting projects. Long may it continue…
