Matthew McConaughey signs on for Gus Van Sants next film
Will star opposite Ken Watanabe in Sea Of Trees
Matthew McConaughey is on quite the run of form, with the Oscar-nominated actor set to take on another interesting role in Gus Van Sant’s Sea Of Trees .
The Wrap reports that the actor has signed on to take the leading role in the new film, as a man entering Mount Fuji’s “Suicidal Forest” with the intention of ending it all.
However, upon arrival at the forest he meets a Japanese man (Ken Watanabe) having second thoughts about his own suicide, and the two embark upon “a journey of reflection and survival”.
It sounds like another seriously meaty part for McConaughey to get his teeth into, and yet more justification of his decision to finally start turning down those romcoms.
No start date has been announced for the project as yet, with McConaughey currently shooting Christopher Nolan’s next picture, Interstellar .
