Matthew Vaughn talks more about X-Men: First Class sequel
“My ideas are much bigger for the next one”
X-Men: First Class isn’t out until Wednesday, but very positive early reviews have clearly reached director Matthew Vaughn, who’s sounding more and more confident about his ideas for a sequel.
“If the film's a hit I definitely want to work with Fox again,” he tells Superhero Hype . “There's a lot of fun things that can be done with this world.
“I'd be very interested in doing a sequel. The hard thing is creating a new franchise, so if it works it would be fun.”
Not only that, but the director teases a follow-up to First Class would seriously up the stakes.
“My ideas are much bigger for the next one,” the director says. “I'm surprised everyone is calling this a really big, epic move, and I'm thinking, ‘Wait until you view the next one if you think this is epic, the next one you won't believe what happens.’”
We've already been lucky enough to see X-Men: First Class , and the thought of Vaughn continuing the quasi-reboot with a sequel has us doing multiple backflips. More please, Mr Vaughn.
X-Men: First Class opens 1 June 2011.
