Medal of Honor: Warfighter beta begins early October on Xbox Live
EA threatens to release Linkin Park video early if beta downloaded 3 million times
A beta for Medal of Honor: Warfighter's multiplayer will open up on Xbox Live in early October, Electronic Arts announced today. Xbox Live Gold members will see action in the military shooter's Sarajevo Olympic stadium map and Hot Spot mode, with the full game scheduled to release on PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 on October 23.
Six classes, with a range of unlockable weaponry, and a two-person fireteam system will be available to players. Warfighter's Battlelog service will debut to track performance as well as metagame progress. No stats or upgrades earned will translate over to release, but beta players will be treated to an hour of doubled experience points in the full game's multiplayer.
EA has also pledged to release an exclusive music video for Linkin Park's "Castle of Glass" featuring in-game footage five days after the beta begins, or early if the beta reaches 3 million downloads. So... maybe wait it out?

I got a BA in journalism from Central Michigan University - though the best education I received there was from CM Life, its student-run newspaper. Long before that, I started pursuing my degree in video games by bugging my older brother to let me play Zelda on the Super Nintendo. I've previously been a news intern for GameSpot, a news writer for CVG, and now I'm a staff writer here at GamesRadar.
