Medal of Honor: Vanguard - hands-on
Fighting back the Nazis one airdrop at a time
After two so-so console games (Rising Sun and European Assault), the series is still trying to rally back to the glory days of 2002's Frontline. This latest entry definitely has a different energy to it, yet still retains much of the same feeling Frontline delivered. The arcade-like icons from Assault are subdued in Vanguard (and can be removed entirely on harder difficulty settings), enabling the game to better achieve the gritty realism the franchise once had. Here's hoping the finished product is as exciting as it sounds.
Our hands-on time was with the PS2 version of the game, but we expect it to control much like last year's Call of Duty 3. We'll have an updated hands-on with Wii controls in the coming weeks.
Medal of Honor: Vanguard deploys to stores this March.
