Exclusive Hitman: Agent 47 featurette explores the assassin's movie backstory
In the upcoming Hitman: Agent 47 movie, Rupert Friend adopts the titular mantle as the baldy assassin with a shadowy past. Cooked up in a lab (hence the barcode on his head) by The Agency - an international hitman operation - Agent 47 is a stylish yet deadly elite agent capable of superhuman strength, agility, speed and intelligence. A bona fide genetically-modified killing machine.
Being blessed with such power makes him a target for an organisation desperate to harness his genetic material. Why? To kickstart an assembly line of hyper-skilled killers, who'd make one hell of an fearsome army if under the command of evil tyrants. Who naturally, they would be. But Agent 47 ain't nobody's fool - he sets about trying to bring down a villainous geneticist at the faceless corporation before his cover is blown.
In the exclusive featurette, Friend explains what attracted him to the role, and producers Alex Young and Adrian Askarieh discuss his veritable skills and iconic status. Check out the exclusive video below:
Co-starring Zachary Quinto, Ciarán Hinds, Hannah Ware and Thomas Kretschmann, Hitman: Agent 47 opens in the US on August 21, 2015 and in the UK on August 27.
