Men In Black 4 gets a writer
Sony pressing forward with fourth film
With Men In Black 3 having posted a respectable box-office return despite receiving a series of lukewarm reviews, Sony looks to be pushing forward with another instalment in the franchise, having hired a writer to pen Men In Black 4 .
THR reports that Oren Uziel has been hired to begin work on the script, having recently got the nod to write another Sony sequel, 21 Jump Street 2 .
Uziel will tackle that script next before getting started on MIB4 , although there is no confirmation as yet as to who will return from the cast and crew of the alien-bashing series.
Will Smith, Barry Sonnenfeld and Steven Spielberg all have back-end deals in place that would drastically bump up the cost of production, while there is no obligation for Emma Thompson or Josh Brolin to return.
MIB4 won’t come cheap then, although with the last film bringing in a franchise-best figure of $624 million, it looks as though Sony will be willing to take the risk…
