Men of War II brings WW2-era strategy back to life next year
The latest entry in the acclaimed franchise launches in 2023
Upcoming real-time strategy sequel Men of War II made a new showing at this year's Golden Joystick Awards, showing off more of its in-depth combat spread across the breadth of World War 2.
It's been more than a decade since the original Men of War, and the next generation in the strategy franchise promises deeper and more complex combat than ever, no matter how you choose to play. Three cinematic single-player campaigns put players in control of Allied, Soviet, and German troops in addition to a fourth, dynamic campaign. New, advanced AI will make you battle for every inch of ground you claim in fights across both the Western and Eastern fronts.
Once you've mastered hundreds of historically-accurate units and locations that Men of War II has to offer in single-player, head to multiplayer to show off your strategic skills. PvP and co-op modes will test what you've learned, with explosive visuals transforming each map into a chaotic battlefield.
If all that doesn't sound like enough to keep you going, the game will also feature full mod support from launch, allowing the community to recreate any battle or unit from throughout history, fiction, or even their imagination. There'll even be a built-in map editor, so even if you're not a coding wizard or 3D modelling expert, you'll be able to build on existing game assets to show off your creativity.
Building on years of strategy experience, this latest iteration of the acclaimed franchise is the culmination of developer Best Way's expertise. With an RTS boom on the horizon, Men of War II is the perfect way for strategy fans and history buffs to find a place at the forefront of a new era for this beloved genre.
Men of War II doesn't have an exact release date just yet, but it's currently set to launch on PC in 2023. To make sure you don't miss out, make sure to wishlist the game via Steam right here.
