You can play Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain on five separate platforms, but it will look a bit different depending on your system of choice. Konami has published a series of comparison screenshots showing the differences between all of The Phantom Pain's console and PC versions, and they're worth checking out if you're still on the fence.
As you can see, the game looks impressive no matter where it's running. But new-gen systems and PC clearly have the edge with subtle visual refinements that make the leather, metal, and canvas elements of Snake's sneaking suit extra distinct, and some nearly photorealistic skin textures. As you might expect, a souped-up PC is your best bet for immaculate lighting effects and the highest possible resolution, but PS4 and Xbox One are still pretty close.
Speaking of resolution, Konami confirmed that The Phantom Pain will run at 1080p on PS4 and 900p on Xbox One, with both systems hitting 60 frames per second.
