Michael Caine signs on for Interstellar
Lines up a sixth collaboration with Christopher Nolan
It was only a matter of time wasn’t it? Having teamed up with Christopher Nolan on five previous occasions, Michael Caine has surprised precisely no one by signing on for the director’s forthcoming sci-fi, Interstellar .
Nolan is fond of working with actors he has previous with, and none more so than Caine, who has become something of a lucky charm for the director.
Predictably, we know zilch about who Caine will be playing, as has been the case with all the other roles cast so far. That said, we’d imagine he’ll be twinkly-eyed, worldly wise and fond of the odd one-liner…
With Jonah Nolan and brother Christopher both having contributed to the script, Interstellar will follow a team of scientific explorers journeying to outer-space in order to investigate the time-travelling possibilities of wormholes.
In terms of plot, that’s pretty much all we’ve learned so far, but then Nolan always has liked to play his cards close to his chest…
Co-starring Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway, with Jessica Chastain also in talks to join the fun, Interstellar will open in the UK on 7 November 2014.
