Michael Douglas talks Ant-Man casting
While Michael Peña is linked to a role
Michael Douglas has commented on his casting in Ant-Man as Hank Pym, and has revealed that he had been “dying to do a Marvel picture for so long”.
“The script is really fun,” continued the star, “the director is really good. [ My son ] Dylan will love it. He’ll have a picture he can see.”
“Sometimes – like when they didn’t see you for Liberace – you’ve got to shake them up a little bit and have some fun.”
Meanwhile, Douglas could soon be joined by Michael Peña, with the actor thought to be currently mulling over an offer of a currently undisclosed role.
It’s thought that Peña is keen, and that Kevin Feige’s attentions will soon turn to casting the female lead, with Rashida Jones and Bryce Dallas Howard said to be among the frontrunners.
Directed by Edgar Wright and starring Paul Rudd, Ant-Man will open in the US on 31 July 2015, with a UK date to be confirmed.
