Michael Fassbender, Brad Pitt and Javier Bardem star in first teaser for Ridley Scotts The Counselor: watch now

The first teaser trailer has arrived online for The Counselor , in which Michael Fassbender and Javier Bardem get in over their heads trying to sell $20 million worth of cocaine.

Directed by Ridley Scott, the new film is heavy on star power, with Brad Pitt, Penélope Cruz and Cameron Diaz appearing alongside Fassbender and Bardem.

This first trailer doesn’t give too much away in terms of plot, but as an exercise in setting the gloomy but glamorous tone, it does the job very nicely indeed.

Take a look at the new trailer, below…

With Cormac McCarthy having provided the script and Scott at the helm, we’re expecting big things from this one. And if previous form is to be believed, every time Bardem takes his hair to the outer limits, good things tend to follow…

Co-starring Natalie Dormer, John Leguizamo and Goran Visnjic, The Counselor will open in the US on 25 October 2013, with a UK date to be confirmed.
