Michael Fassbender will play a rock star in Frank
Domhnall Gleeson also cast
Michael Fassbender will play the leader of a pop band in Frank , a musical comedy developed by Film4.
The Fass adds the project to a heaving slate, which includes 12 Years A Slave , The Counselor , Jane Got A Gun and First Class sequel X-Men: Days Of Future Past .
Domhnall Gleeson will co-star as a naïve musician who joins the band. The son of Brendan, Gleeson played a Weasley in the Harry Potter franchise , but made has since been making a name for himself in some diverse projects, two of which ( Dredd and Anna Karenina ) are out this week.
Frank ’s key selling point is no doubt going to be Fassbender’s impressive singing voice .
Here’s what the press release had to say:
“Frank is a comedy about a young wannabe musician, Jon (Gleeson), who discovers he's bitten off more than he can chew when he joins an eccentric pop band led by the mysterious and enigmatic Frank (Fassbender). ”
Frank will shoot in late 2012.
